CARZi of Escondido thanks you for your interest in our vehicles. Buying a car online without seeing it in person can be challenging. However, we will do our best to make this a transparent, seamless and a positive experience. We also recommend that you send a friend or a family member to look at the vehicle on your behalf or, even better, hire a mobile vehicle pre-purchase inspection service. We created this guide to help our remote shoppers navigate through this sort of online transaction with ease and with the full knowledge of the sale-terms and conditions.
The Purchasing Process
To purchase, a full payment or a non-refundable deposit is required to get started and hold the vehicle.
- We start by emailing you a pre-purchase agreement with details and payment instructions.
- We always let the buyer arrange for the transportation. We can recommend a few carriers.
- Please note, the vehicle will continue to be advertised for sale until full payment is received.
- After we receive the funds, we will email you all of the sales documents to sign and return.
- We will store the vehicle in our warehouses awaiting the paperwork and any balances due.
- After paperwork and full payment are received, the vehicle can be released to your carrier.
- We'll also mail or email you copies of all the sales documents that you have already signed.
- Vehicle titles are sent to cash buyers or to the lienholders on record directly from the DMV.
- Note:
- Please note that deposits are non-refundable and only valid for 7 days from date received.
- If the balance is not paid by the 8th day, then sale is voided and AND deposit is forfeited!
- Please be aware that no refunds, returns or changes are allowed after receipt of payment.
- Credit Union or Lender Payments:
- We need to know if your lender requires a completed registration before funding the loan.
- Please make sure the loan is approved on the very specific vehicle you're buying from us.
- We will need all your info as well as your social security # and the lenders approval letter.
- Once we receive full payment, the vehicle will be released to your transporter (see above)
Sales Tax And Registration
- If the vehicle is to be registered and delivered in California, we will collect the sales tax + registration fees.
- If the vehicle is shipped to the buyer (outside California), we don't collect the sales tax or registration fees.
- If the vehicle is to be registered outside California but is driven off our lot, we have to collect the sales tax.
- If you pay the California sales tax, you should not have to pay it again in your state. Contact us for details.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Car shoppers are encouraged to get pre-purchase inspections on potential vehicles.

There are plenty of mobile mechanics and inspection services that can be found online or on Craigslist.
Our policy regarding pre-inspections is:
- Buyer must arrange the inspection and to give us at least a 1 day advance notice of the date and time.
- Inspection must be performed during our business hours and on our premises. No exceptions please!
- On the same day the inspection is completed, we need to know the buyers decision on the purchase as:
- The vehicle will still be advertised for sale to the public unless we receive a full payment or a deposit.
- Exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, we have to be fair to all of our buyers.
